The couture process behind the making of this beautiful custom made headpiece for JESS 🌸
The couture flower comb:
1. We used extra lace from Jess’ wedding dress and carefully cut individual flowers which would form the petals of the flower headpiece we were creating.
2. We incorporated the most special component which was lace from her great, great Aunty’s wedding dress. Her Aunty married in the 1940s during the war and this wedding dress was passed down in the family.
There are highlights of dark ivory Italian lace forming flower petals amongst the lace we incorporated from Jess’ wedding dress.
3. Each layer of the 3D flower was hand-sewn with invisible thread for a flawless finish. each petal was hand-sewn with a natural curve to resemble a real flower petals.
4. In the centre of the flower we created a modern, glamorous finish with Swarovski bicone crystals and a single freshwater pearl.
The early 1900s glamour theme was finished with a birdcage veil, custom made for Jess.
The brief was elegance, vintage, old world charm and it was a delight to work with Jess and her Mum on this very unique and sentimental headpiece.
Jess gave us the following review:
"It was beautiful to wear, I loved it so much… it was exactly what I asked for ❤️❤️" - Jessica S
